Director Kim Yong-hwa specializes in creating unforgettable characters with inspiring stories – Oh! Brothers (2003), 200 Pounds Beauty (2006), Take Off (2009) and Mr. Go (2013).
This year he makes a major comeback with his FIRST fantasy adventure film Along with The Gods: Two Worlds that takes viewers to the underworld using the latest in special effects and CGI along with a captivating storyline.
Here are 4 reasons why you need to watch Along with The Gods: Two Worlds.
Not one, but two-part film series!
The film will be released in 2 PARTS! This is an epic story that is just too grand to be contained within just one movie.
The 1st part will be screened across Malaysia on 18 January 2018. The 2nd part, The Last of 49 Days, is planned to be released in the Summer 2018.
Adapted from Naver webcomic series Singwa Hamgge
The film’s storyline is based on popular Naver webcomic series Singwa Hamgge. Yong-hwa worked closely with its original creator, Joo Hoo-min. The film focuses on one of the three episodes of webcomic, Afterlife.
This story follows Gang Rim (Ha Jung-woo), the leader of the angels of death, and his two comrades protecting firefighter Kim Ja-hong (Cha Tae-hyun) who goes through the seven trials in the afterlife for 49 days before reincarnation.
Having Hoo-min on board, Yong-hwa’s past experiences in directing comic-adapted films (200 Pounds Beauty and Mr. Go) along with Hoo-min’s guidance ensures that Along with The Gods: Two Worlds is exactly the same as the original webcomic.

Making use of latest technology in film production
With Dexter Studio, founder and CEO Yong-hwa is praised for using the state-of-the-art visual effects Take Off (the iconic Winter Olympics 2002 event) and Mr. Go (created a gorilla baseball player, Mr. Go).
Yong-hwa advances further in adding cutting-edge VFX technology to the film by capturing the casts’ motion with green screen and adapt them into the human world and afterworld with CG effects.
You will be amazed by the scenes made with attention-to-detail – imaginative locations in the after world and the way the angels of death kill strange creatures with their fiery swords and teleport to different worlds.
